And they recommend you to another. But imagine getting 5 recommendations all at the same time? Read this:
Hi Ian,
Just wanted to give you a quick update. DIY Marketing articles great – and yes – will be doing something with my database when I get a second – I know it’s really valuable.
Also wanted to thank and acknowledge you for the letter you helped me with relating to the work in the school in Leeds. Got 5 enquiries from the mailout, one already converted and started work there already, 2 very interested in starting in Sept and are coming back to me. Thanks again!!
So, would encourage you to do some articles on that subject – i.e. getting people to get their enrolled clients to mail out to their own database. There is no doubt that it is extremely effective and that it works – you can quote me as an example if you want.
Best regards,
Hugh
So how do you do this?
Quite simply, think of a really close client. Someone who loves what you do. And ask them to email the people they know recommending you.
In Hugh's case, he had made a huge difference to one of his clients. They had improved results tremendously, got a fantastic OFSTED rating, and the morale of the staff had turned completely around.
All his client did was email a few schools in the local area telling them how much of a difference Hugh's work had made, and asked them to hit reply if they wanted him to get in touch.
Of course having a copy-writer help with the words makes the difference, but if you do this yourself, make sure your client doesn't give your contact details.
That's a bit like dropping the baton before the race has ended. Instead, ask them to reply and have your client forward the enquiries to you.
